Tianmu Zhan is produced in Jianyao kiln, which is located in Shuiji Town, Jianyang City, Fujian Province. The main product of the kiln is black-glazed porcelain, and the most popular type of black-glazed porcelain is rabbit hair pottery, which was one of the best tea-fighting utensils during the Song Dynasty. In addition, there are glazes such as oil droplets, partridge spots and Yao Bian. They were all representative works of black-glazed porcelain in the Song Dynasty. The Jian Kiln's black-glazed porcelain lid was once a tribute to the court and spread to Japan during the Song Dynasty where it became known as Tianmu Glaze Porcelain or Tianmu Zhan.
